How to reach the faculty
Train
People by train at Brussels airport "Brussel-Nat-Luchthaven" arrive in Gent at the station "Gent-Sint-Pieters". For the timetables of the Belgian railway click here.
- Take at the railway station Gent-Sint-Pieters the tram line 4 and get off at the stop "Theresianenstraat". Then cross the small bridge over the canal "Coupure". You will see the faculty in front of you.
Car
Parking places for cars on the campus of the faculty are restricted and are reserved for faculty staff! PARKING OF YOUR CAR ON THE CAMPUS CAN NOT BE GUARANTEED!
As of 2020 Ghent is a Low Emission Zone. THE FACULTY CAMPUS IS LOCATED WITHIN THIS LOW EMISSION ZONE. Only vehicles that meet the conditions for admission will be allowed into this zone. People by car arrive in Gent on the motorway E17 or E40 .
- Take exit "GENT CENTRUM".
- At the bifurcation just before the overpass, take exit "ALLE RICHTINGEN" (not "Gent Centrum").
- Under the overpass, take the extreme left lane and turn to the left onto the city ring-road, following directions a.o. "Zelzate", "Eeklo".
- Follow this direction (you'll pass several traffic lights); once you have passed a small church on your right hand side, you need to turn right at the next traffic lights into the street "Nieuwe wandeling".
- Follow that street for a while until you can turn right into the street "Coupure links",
- Follow this street alongside a canal.
- At your right hand side you will find the entrance of the campus of the "Faculteit Bio-ingenieurswetenschappen", it's located at the corner of the "Coupure links" and "Ekkergemstraat".
- Parking places for cars on the campus are reserved for people working at the faculty and parking of your car on the campus can not be guaranteed!
